Emerge – Fine Art Print

About the artwork: While this self portrait looks like it may have been taken from above, quite the opposite is the case – for this one, I crawled deep into an earth hole and was rather lying on the ground. If you’ve ever been to the Swiss Alps, you know how majestic they are. Yet, sometimes it is the little details of nature that capture my attention.

As I was hiking across wonderful forests and meadows, I noticed this little cave, just about big enough to fit a human and framed so elegantly by the green grass, leaves and ferns. So of course I had to create something there. To me, this sensual and beautifully emotional photograph is symbolic of someone metaphorically emerging from a dark hole. Leaving their shadows behind and surfacing to the light of the day where a lush green world full of wonder awaits.

Can you guess my favorite little detail? It’s the tiny daisy right next to me – adding an extra bit of tenderness to the image.
